The Great Resignation & Why Dog Trainers Need to Keep An Eye on it.

The GREAT Resignation. Hundreds of THOUSANDS of Millenial corporate workers are leaving their jobs. Rightfully so. Toxic workplace culture, out of touch management (hello Boomers), and the demand to go back into the office to justify the real-estate costs when over the last two years, it was proven that most corporate job roles could be managed successfully at home.

How do you all feel about the great resignation of the corporate peeps as a dog biz owner? Why should it matter to you as an entrepreneur? Great question.

The thing is - it's JUST getting started. 2022 is set to be revolutionary when it comes to employees and employers.

Fun fact, I just had my end-of-year check-in call with one of my oldest (and dearest mentors), the CEO of a Fortune 50. Across the board, leadership is seriously being kept awake at night by this. And guess what?

And, many, many of these brilliant, ex-corporate employees are actively tapping into the pet dog training/care market as we speak.

Before you roll your eyes and be like, "Well, they have no experience, they're not like me; I've been doing this for years, nobody can compete with me... pffff... let the true trainers/biz owners rise to the top!"

Full stop there, please. We need to talk about this and take it seriously.

These new dog biz owners are different. Thanks to years of side hustling, they have hands-on experience. The new dog biz owner has capital and access to massive capital to start fast. Like, lightning-fast.

They know how to get their dog biz running thanks to unlimited resources, education, and experience in their previous roles strategically. They have already opened up shop in your town or even purchased that commercial facility you've been eyeing. You know the one that was vacated in 2020.

The peeps, the new breed of dog trainers, know the dog owner market inside and out.

They are part of the market.

This isn't like 2008/2009, where we saw many new business owners entering out of survival after losing their jobs—driving the market down to the bottom barrel. These dog biz owners will accelerate the market, your market faster.

We haven't even hit on the pet tech start-ups. Sure say, what you want about the start-up bros.

But, the pet tech start-ups in the training/care field are about to come in hot in late 2022-2023. This, in itself, will have a domino effect in the pet dog training industry - from regulation to governing bodies to the education of the dog owner.

That status quo? That will probably let you skate on by for the next 3-5 years if we're being generous - but the landscape will be completely different by 2025.

This isn't doom for anyone. It's an exciting time to be in our industry.
